We are Proud to Support Local Musician’s Healthcare as a HAAM Supporter

About HAAM Day

HAAM Day is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a celebration of community and live music, and a way to raise awareness for HAAM, a non-profit organization that provides affordable healthcare to low-income working musicians in Austin. Now in its 18th year, HAAM Day is one of Austin’s most iconic events, and it’s been recognized for its creativity and impact. In 2022/2023, HAAM Day was crowned “Most Creative Event” at the Austin Music Awards.

This year, HAAM Day will feature more than 200 FREE live music performances all over town. Austinites can expect to hear tunes bouncing off the walls of their local bank lobbies, grocery stores, parks, restaurants, shops, music venues, and your local Peoples Rx! HAAM Day will also be featured with our media partners and on HAAM’s social media channels. Join us on HAAM Day to celebrate Austin’s music scene and support a great cause!

Shad Blair Live at Peoples Rx (Westlake)

  • 12:00 PM  12:45 PM
  • Peoples Rx (Westlake) (map)

Texas singer/songwriter Shad Blair was born and raised on a cattle ranch southeast of Post, Texas, learning to play guitar and sing from his dad and older brothers. He wore out his parents’ old country vinyl, spending the long Texas summers soaking up the music of Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Bobby Helms, and Hank Williams. At age 14, Shad’s father taught him to play “Fraulein” and soon after he began playing gigs, later working in the oilfields to put himself through college. Over the years, Shad has created a sound hardened by life experience and steeped in his influences including Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, and Steve Earle, to name a few.
