He served his country in the Army through his college years, then moved to Texas with his wife to start their family; they were blessed with twins. He became interested in functional medicine while listening to Dr. Andrew Weil lecture at the University of Arizona. Looking at the patient as a whole rather than compartmentalizing was a better approach to health care.
