Importance of Micronutrient Testing
“Inadequate intake or subtle deficiencies in several vitamins are risk factors for chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and osteoporosis.” An article in Journal of the American Medical Association highlights the importance of optimal nutritional status. (JAMA, June 19, 2002-Vol 287, No 23.) The article continues to define suboptimal levels of a vitamin as “those associated with abnormalities of metabolism that can be corrected by supplementation with that vitamin.” So how do you know which vitamins you need to supplement to prevent risk factors for chronic disease?
