7th Annual Farm & Food Leadership Conference

Mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Farm & Food Leadership Conference on Sunday, September 22 and Monday, September 23, 2013. This year’s conference will be in Bastrop, Texas at the Bastrop Convention Center.

This unique conference focuses on the policies and regulations affecting our farms and our food. Come hear top speakers on issues such as the Farm Bill, genetically modified foods, corporate control of our food system, and much more. This year, we’ll also have a banquet, featuring the exquisite culinary art of Jesse Griffiths of Dai Due.

We are pleased to announce Francis Thicke as our conference keynote speaker! Francis, with his wife Susan, owns and operates an 80-cow, grass-based, organic dairy near Fairfield, Iowa. They process their milk on the farm and market their dairy products through grocery stores and restaurants in Fairfield. Francis has a Ph.D. in soil fertility and has served as National Program Leader for Soil Science for the USDA-Extension Service in Washington, D.C.
