Take Care of Your Eyes: Make Reading Easier

08/13/2015 @ 7:00 pm

Free

Reading is an essential part in everyday life. Some read for leisure, others for work, but everyone reads throughout the day in order to function in their surroundings. For millennia, we looked in the distance most of the time and up close usually for short periods. Today, we are constantly looking “near.” The structure of the eye is designed to look in the distance as well as up close. Our life’s demand to use our eyes in this “out of balanced” way causes great strain on the visual system, and is a leading factor in degenerative conditions of the eyes that are becoming increasingly common. Reading is unavoidable, as is working on computers and even cell phones, but this does not mean we have to accept the degeneration of our visual health.  There are exercises designed to relieve the strain that reading puts on the eyes and techniques we can practice to nurture and protect our macula. Learn how to make reading easier, naturally, and how to take care of your eyes. Your eyesight is precious. Learn how to nurture and preserve it.
